Through Fire and Shadow _53_

The Wave = Tailsko was not planned, it was just a totally random thought that I decided to throw in for fun. Tails seems to enjoy the comparison, but Wave is less amused. Luckily Storm is there to soak up her anger.

This will be explained independently in a later page, but I may as well do so here and now, too (the spoilerage isn't so great). This was all revealed in COA:NWO anyway, and that stuff's been online for more than a year, I think.

This is the second time Jet's mentioned "Santa Christi" and the nickname "Fire Fox" in reference to Tails. He's referring to events from back when Tails worked for the Battlebird Armada, soon after his parents were killed but before he joined Sonic. Near the end of his association with them, he constructed a Fuel Air Explosive bomb called the Maelstrom that was tested on the "pirate" town of Santa Christi, utterly destroying it. The Battlebirds took to calling him Fire Fox. It is a fact about his past known only within the Armada, and one he has kept his Freedom Fighter friends from learning. When Jet brings it up it is partly out of respect, and partly a jab at Tails' dirty past.
